On Wednesday the 10th of May, US singer-songwriter Thanksgiving will play at cafe Sappho. If you're into freakfolk - I hate that term - you can't miss it! Doors open at 8 PM, show from 8.30 to 9.30. Be there in time or you'll only hear the last brilliant notes fade away... Entry fee is only 2 euros.
Address: Vijzelstraat 103, Amsterdam.
Thanksgiving has played at Sappho before, together with John Vanderslice - who this year couldn't make it because he was tied into a tour with Death Cab For Cutie. This time Thanksgiving will be the headliner. Who knows, next year Paradiso?
Adrian Orange - the person behind the alias Thanksgiving - has worked extensively with the Microphones.Mount Eerie, which culminated in a double-album with The Microphones. I'm afraid I sent out an emailing with the name Mt Zion, which of course is a better name, but it is of course Mt Eerie... ;)
Adrian lives in Portland, Oregon but I think he's always on tour.
