This Sunday: ASG matinee with Ant Mayer (UK)

Coming Sunday the Amsterdam Songwriters Guild organizes another matinee in the lovely intimate Karthuizer Hof. This time we have two acts coming over exclusively from the UK: headlining is Ant Mayer, who worked with Pete Doherty of Babyshambles. He takes along the duo Mission Defunkt (acoustic psychedelic).

Roland 'Lut' Luttik and the Grizzley Men - both from Holland - are topping it off. Expect the unexpected!

For more info on Ant Mayer see below...

Address: Karthuizersstraat 167, in De Jordaan of Amsterdam.
Starts at 2.30 PM until 5 PM, entrance is only 2 euros. Drinks and cookies are cheap.

Hope to see you there!

More info:

Ant Mayer
"Imaginative Songwriting with an energetic yet, refreshing sounding guitar, fused with his unique vocals makes Ant Mayer one of the undiscovered original songwriters of today."

"With a mix of energized modern acoustic rock/ blues welded with brain etching riffs, often awash with leanings towards the progressive."

Former lead singer/rhythm guitarist for The Circle Circus for five years, during which time The Circle Circus built up quite a large following, playing to many a sell-out crowd touring with the likes of Supergrass, The Electric Six, Arthur Lee's 'Love', Kasabian, Keane, Razorlight, Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, The Duke Spirit, Shed Seven and The Bluetones and spent most of last year on a sell-out tour with Pete Doherty and The Babyshambles where Ant also supported Pete on his 2004 solo acoustic tour. They released their first single 'Conscience song' in November 2004 with 'Look Outside' as the B-side on their own label 'Red Means Go' with the help of 1234 Records, distributed by Cargo. Shortly after the release The Circle Circus decided to disband. Ant decided to forge ahead with his solo acoustic career and has since been constantly writing and gigging, supporting the likes of Steven Fretwell, Nick Harper and We are Scientists.
